CHICAGO (Reuters) - U.S. researchers have found a way to make efficient silicon-based solar cells that are flexible enough to be rolled around a pencil and transparent enough to be used to tint windows on buildings or cars.
Just when I think we've entered Dante's Inferno and we should follow his advice and abandon hope...I see an article like this.
Imagine all of our cars retro-fitted with solar panel tinting on the windshields and batteries to store the collected solar energy...and the same batteries to use instead of gas.
Or imagine our skyscrapers's windows tinted with this solar panel....
All I can ask is who, what, when and where: Who'll make it? What will it cost? When's it ready? Where can we get it?

Zane,
There actually is a company that has been working on the thin film solar panel / skyscraper window thing for some time.
