I knew, with 96.2% confidence factor, that I would enjoy this conversation. Todd's one of my favorite people. He's smart and funny, kind-hearted, attentive, thoughtful, crisp, evangelistic, compassionate....and a die-hard Packers fan. And as expected...the conversation was great. I could have talked for another hour or two with Todd. And I think that's the power of BlogTalk Radio...a good conversation shared for all to hear.
He had so much to share. Being the thoughful, smart, crisp, organized person he is...it was easy to take notes. That said, I'm awaiting the transcription from Susan Poirier of Aceconcierge tomorrow. (She's excellent, BTW.)
Here's a few points AND a media player where you'll be able to listen to Todd's thoughts on his book, the process of co-authoring it with Jack Covert, the founder of 800CEORead, how they market it (smartly, efficiently) and where you can get it.
Todd's thoughts on:
Why did they write this book?
This is our stake in the ground. We are the experts on business books.
Too many people read bad books. By bad, I mean they read the wrong book.
Everyone's read 1 or 2 of the same business books: Good to Great or 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Then after that they read books based on clever title or powerful marketing copy.
We wanted to help people read the right books. Business books are self-help books at their core. And we wanted to make sure people read the right books, the best books. Best business books also apply to our personal lives. The solutions apply to our personal lives, too.
And in future posts we'll share his 3 tips for authors, 7 sales that take place with every book purchased and some of the very smart and efficient leveraging of their strengths included in their marketing efforts.
In the meantime, you can listen here. And, the first 3 people who comment here will receive a complimentary copy of 100 BEST Business Books of ALL Time: What They Say, Why They Matter and How They Can Help You.
