Stephen M. Nipper is a partner with the law firm of Dykas, Shaver & Nipper (www.dykaslaw.com) in Boise, Idaho.
Mr. Nipper’s practice covers a broad spectrum of intellectual property work, from prosecution to litigation. A significant portion of his work is handling US patent and trademark cases for foreign law firms and corporations. His main experience is in agriculture, the biological and chemical sciences, and mechanical arts.
Mr. Nipper is the author of The Invent Blog®,a technology blog covering news, technology tips, and other information relevant to attorneys (particularly patent and trademark attorneys), independent inventors and small businesses.
Steve offers an up-close and personal perspective on not only IP issues, but also on the use of social media to promote your business. Steve's been a successful, leading, early-adoptor for social media in general. And as an attorney, he's been leading his industry by example to embrace the power of social media to differentiate their firms in the marketplace.
I've known Steve for a number of years. He's smart, funny, wide-read, articulate, measured and a big fan of social media. I expect to learn, ok be schooled, more on the issues of IP in this age of digital media, a misplaced sense of entitlement to its content among its users and how IP protection can be managed in a way that benefits all of us.
