Steven S. Little was a recent guest on my radio show. Steven is the author of Duck and (Re)Cover: The Embattled Business Owners Guide to Survival and Growth
We talked about this turbulent economy and how do businesses survive? I asked him:
What are three ways a business leader can get on top of this turbulence?
Here's what he answered:
1. Get the facts straight first. The most important that a business leader or more importantly, a business owner can do right now is to be sure that their decision-making is based upon logic and fact because that is not always the case when in a crisis. They can’t go with their guts and then rationalize their decision.
2. They have to get up and do what needs to be done.
3. Whatever it is that you don’t normally do, get out and do it. It is those voids that need to be filled.
I like them all.
Gather your data and supporting logic. They should compliment. You cannot take the next step with them.
Do what needs to be done. Tough choices face us all. But the right choices become visible with good date and supporting logic.
Doing the same thing and expecting different results is insane. We're not in Kansas anymore with this economy. Nor will we ever be again. So, doing what worked in Kansas and expecting it to work today is...insane.
