Let them organize the interview process…and be there to help.
Employees are motivated to organize and manage the hiring process.
Well, they are if allowed and communication is allowed that opens and allows their ideas about how best to build their successes, achieve their goals, grow their careers, make their days be days of energy and passion and learning. And in the process grow their careers and yours, also.
Some of the most important ideas here then arise from answers to these questions:- When do we hire a new person?
- Why should we hire that person?
- Who should that person be?
Your employees deliver the answers with the most meaning to those questions.
Ideas are not solutions until you implement them. Those answers form the first step of moving from an idea into a solution. Those answers, their answers, also answer these three questions:
- What’s in it for me?
- Why should I care?
- Why should I believe?
Engagement comes when employees deliver the most meaningful answers and are allowed to implement their answers in order to become their solutions. That’s when passion and commitment, energy and enthusiasm, accountability and responsibility, cash-flows and employee turnover...all rise. Together.
That engagement rises in the interview and hiring process when you recognize their vested interests in hiring the right person. And you recognize you have trained them and giving them the tools and resources to hire the right person. That’s your help. And you’re there to help along the way.
Employees are capable of organizing and managing the hiring process. Recognize that. Recognize your employees.

Here is the first week of this 52-Step Employee Recognition Plan.
You can start with any week and make that your first week.
You can take one of those weeks and turn it into a month or commit to an accelerated pace and complete 6 individual weeks in one month.
You can create your own week of employee recognition.
But do something to recognize your employees! They set your brand apart as your ultimate competitive edge. And the more you recognize their achievements, the more achievements you'll see and they'll enjoy, along with your customers and and shareholders, partners and vendors.
