I announced in May, 2010, the 52 - Week Employee Recognition Plan. This is the 37th week. The lesson this week is:
• Share their customer’s praise for them: word-for-word.
You have recognized them in many different ways. Right? Right.
Your recognition for them is recognized by them. It is appreciated. Regardless of any response, it is appreciated.
The same message spoken from a different voice is powerful. Reinforcement. A 3rd-party’s reinforcement. Reinforcement by a 3rd-party with nothing gained from their message. That is delivered when a customer recognizes those who make meaning for their day, listen, acknowledge, take responsibility and deliver a solution and promptly for their needs.
Share that customer’s words of praise with those who inspired those words. You have recognized their work for a long time. And now, their work is recognized by a new audience. So...share it with those who built that audience into a fan base.
Notice the connection you build when you do share this testimony. Your work and talents and decisions are now aligned and that alignment has resulted in something very, very, good for you both. For all three of you, including the customer. That’s a good thing.
