Larry Port of Rocket Matter tweeted me this morning that he's spending this morning handwriting notes to his employees. Thanking them. Wishing them Happy Holidays.
It was just a perfect way to start my day.
Handwritten thank-you notes are a simple touch. Don't require much time. Very personalized. VERY personal.
It's the step of a good leader, one who cares, one who's thankful. Genuinely thankful.
Now...let's imagine working for him, coming to work, finding his hand-written note on your desk, on Christmas Eve. Or any day for that matter.
How would our day be different? How would our life be different?
Now...let's imagine we're the boss and maybe we are, maybe we're a parent or a spouse or a friend or a leader...how would we change the day of those around us with a simple hand-written note? Just saying, thanks.
I'll start. (It's not hand-written, here. But it's a start. ) Thanks for reading this blog. Thanks for writing your blogs. Thanks for sharing your comments. Thanks for what you, we, are doing to make 2009 great.
