What's on my mind? Frank Ramsey's on my mind. He passed away this week, I found out Friday afternoon.
Frank was a light and a force of nature. He jumped up most every morning, wide awake and grinning and rubbing his hands, ready to work hard, make someone laugh, have a moment or three, share these with any he found. Frank's life makes the saying "He lived life to its fullest" seem ... well like cup of thin tea. Frank did all that most every day by noon and kept going. Yeah-yeah-yeah. Git ya some.
He loved his wife and he loved his family. Fiercely loyal to them both.
Frank was one of the least judgmental people I've ever known. I regret not being smart enough to appreciate that until the last few days.
He was one of the funniest people I know. Not many people make me laugh hard, belly laugh, tears running down my face, gotta get up from the table to catch my breath kind of hard. Frank could do that.
Frank's the kind of friend you could have a conversation every day for a week then not see each other for a year and you'd resume the conversation where you'd left it.
I was asked to share some of our escapades; we had many. However, it's tricky typing when my eyes keep watering and my head drops and I start remembering. It's taken two days to finish this.
Frank. You were a good man, a good friend. I'm missing you. Keep 'em smiling.
